Hebrews 9:22
The Bible in Hebrews Chapter 9 Verse 22 says:
And according to the law, I may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.
Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 9 Verse 22
Hebrews 9:22 teaches that all things necessary for forgiveness of sins, or remission, can only be accomplished through the shedding of blood. This verse is referring to the Old Testament law, which required that the shedding of blood was necessary for the cleansing of sins. The verse implies that, in the absence of the shedding of blood, no remission is possible. Ultimately, this verse is pointing to the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ, whose death by crucifixion was necessary in order to provide salvation and forgiveness to humanity.
