Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 9 Verse 3
Hebrews 9:3 refers to the inner sanctuary of the tabernacle, which was referred to as the Holy of Holies. This was the most holy area in the tabernacle and was accessible only by the high priest once a year. Inside this chamber were the Ark of the Covenant, containing the two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments given to Moses. The veil separating the Holy of Holies from the rest of the tabernacle symbolized the separation of God from man and the need for a mediator to make atonement for mankind.
