Hebrews 2:17

The Bible in Hebrews Chapter 2 Verse 17 says:

Wherefore it behooved him in all things to be made like unto his brethren, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 2 Verse 17

In Hebrews 2:17, it is revealed that Jesus was made like his brethren in all things, so that he could be a faithful and merciful high priest, able to make propitiation for the sins of the people. Jesus was sent to earth to be a perfect example of what it means to be a faithful servant of God, and to be a sacrifice for the sins of mankind. In taking on human form, Jesus was able to understand and sympathize with the human condition, and use his divine power to make atonement for the sins of mankind. He was given the high priestly role of mediator between God and man, and through his perfect life and death, he was able to make the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of humanity.
