Interpretation of Hebrews Chapter 2 Verse 14
In Hebrews 2:14, the author is emphasizing the importance of Jesus’ death. He explains that because we, humans, are all “sharers in flesh and blood,” Jesus had to become a part of us and partake in the same human experience in order to die a human death. His death was necessary so that Jesus could “bring to nought him that had the power of death,” which is referring to the devil. This verse is emphasizing that Jesus’ death was a victory over evil and sin and that it was essential for our salvation.
