Interpretation of Titus Chapter 1 Verse 8
Titus 1:8 is a summary of the qualities that God expects from a leader or pastor in the church. The verse states that a leader should be hospitable, loving, sensible, just, holy and self-controlled. These qualities should be the benchmark for any leader in the church. A leader who is hospitable and loving will be able to build relationships with members of the church and also with those outside the church, while one who is sensible, just and holy will be able to make wise decisions. Lastly, being self-controlled is essential for a leader to be able to control their emotions and stay focused on their mission.
