For the bishop must be blameless, as God’s steward; not self-willed, not soon angry, no brawler, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre;

Interpretation of Titus Chapter 1 Verse 7

Titus 1:7 is a reminder to those in spiritual leadership that they should be held to a higher standard. They should be blameless, meaning without fault or reproach, as a steward of God. They should also have a sound judgement and not be easily angered, not be quarrelsome and not be violent, and not be greedy for money. They should be examples of holiness and purity and should strive to lead their flock by example.
