But evil men and impostors shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
Interpretation of 2 Timothy Chapter 3 Verse 13
2 Timothy 3:13 is a warning from the apostle Paul to his protégé Timothy about the dangers of false teachers and their teachings. Paul warns that these evil men and impostors – people who spread false doctrine and lead people astray – will become increasingly worse, deceiving and being deceived. Paul tells Timothy to stay away from these people and their teachings, and instead to continue in the faith, just as he had taught him. The verse serves as a reminder to all Christians that we should remain vigilant and be on the lookout for false teachings, lest we be deceived and led astray.
