The Bible in 1 Timothy Chapter 4 Verse 3 says:

forbidding to marry, [and commanding] to abstain from meats, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by them that believe and know the truth.

Interpretation of 1 Timothy Chapter 4 Verse 3

1 Timothy 4:3 is part of a larger section of scripture in which Paul is warning Timothy and the church against false teachers. In this particular verse, Paul is warning against those who forbid others to marry and who teach that certain meats must be abstained from. Paul is clear that these teachings are not from God, who intended for all people to be able to receive meat with thanksgiving and to marry if they so choose. Paul encourages Timothy to reject these false teachings and to instead hold to the truth of God’s word.
