In 2 Thessalonians 3:12, Paul is instructing the members of the church in Thessalonica to live in quietness, working hard to provide for themselves and their families. He is telling them to depend on their own efforts and not to be idle or be burdensome to others. Paul encourages them to work hard with diligence and honesty, so they can eat their own bread and be a blessing to their community.
