Philippians Chapter 1 Verse 17

Philippians 1:17

The Bible in Philippians Chapter 1 Verse 17 says:

but the other proclaim Christ of faction, not sincerely, thinking to raise up affliction for me in my bonds.

Interpretation of Philippians Chapter 1 Verse 17

Paul is writing to the church in Philippi from prison. He is speaking of those who proclaim Christ from a party spirit, rather than sincerely. He believes they are trying to create more trouble for him by stirring up the authorities against him. He goes on to say that he doesn’t care if their motives are pure or not because the important thing is that the message of Christ is being proclaimed.
