Galatians 5:2
The Bible in Galatians Chapter 5 Verse 2 says:
Behold, I Paul say unto you, that, if ye receive circumcision, Christ will profit you nothing.
Interpretation of Galatians Chapter 5 Verse 2
In Galatians 5:2, the apostle Paul is warning the believers in Galatia against reverting to the Jewish traditions of circumcision. Paul is stressing that the only way to be saved is through faith in Jesus Christ and not through any physical sign or ritual. He is essentially saying that if they choose to accept circumcision as a condition for salvation, then Christ’s death and resurrection will be completely useless. He is also reminding them that it is through faith in Jesus that they have been justified and set free from the law. This verse is not only applicable to the believers in Galatia, but to believers today as well. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and not through any other means.
