Galatians 4:1
The Bible in Galatians Chapter 4 Verse 1 says:
But I say that so long as the heir is a child, he differeth nothing from a bondservant though he is lord of all;
Interpretation of Galatians Chapter 4 Verse 1
Galatians 4:1 is part of a larger passage in which the apostle Paul is comparing the Old Testament law to the freedom available to believers through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is showing how the law was a guardian and a tutor, acting as a child’s guardian until the child came of age, but then the child was no longer under the law’s guardianship and had freedom. Similarly, Paul is saying that before Jesus, we were like children who were under the law, and could not receive the fullness of God’s promises until we were mature enough to understand them. But now, through Jesus, we are no longer under the law, and are free to receive the promises of God.
