Galatians 3:23
The Bible in Galatians Chapter 3 Verse 23 says:
But before faith came, we were kept in ward under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
Interpretation of Galatians Chapter 3 Verse 23
Galatians 3:23 is referring to the period of time before the coming of Jesus. Prior to Jesus’ arrival, the Jews were held under the Law of Moses and confined to the faith that had been revealed in the Old Testament scriptures. This was a time of transition, as the Jews waited for the coming of their long-awaited Messiah and the fulfillment of God’s promises. The Law of Moses was a temporary measure, and once Jesus came, faith in Him superseded the Law and ushered in a new era of grace and mercy. By accepting Jesus’ sacrifice, the Jews were released from the bondage of the Law and could now live in the liberty and freedom of faith in Jesus.
