Galatians Chapter 3 Verse 17

Galatians 3:17

The Bible in Galatians Chapter 3 Verse 17 says:

Now this I say: A covenant confirmed beforehand by God, the law, which came four hundred and thirty years after, doth not disannul, so as to make the promise of none effect.

Interpretation of Galatians Chapter 3 Verse 17

Galatians 3:17 is making the point that the covenant made with Abraham by God is still valid, even though the Law was given to Moses 430 years later. The Law does not invalidate the promise made to Abraham, but rather is there to help him understand how to live in obedience to the covenant. The verse is emphasizing the importance of faith over works, because it is faith in God’s promise that brings salvation, not works of the Law.
