2 Corinthians 12:16

The Bible in 2 Corinthians Chapter 12 Verse 16 says:

But be it so, I did not myself burden you; but, being crafty, I caught you with guile.

Interpretation of 2 Corinthians Chapter 12 Verse 16

In 2 Corinthians 12:16, Paul is addressing the Corinthian church and speaking about his visit to them in the past. He reminds them that even though it appears he has been a burden to them, he was in fact using wisdom and strategy to help them. He reveals that he used guile (tricky tactics) to persuade them to accept his message and teaching. He is conveying that his motives were not to take advantage of them, but to care for them.
