Interpretation of 2 Corinthians Chapter 8 Verse 1
2 Corinthians 8:1 is a reminder to the believers in the churches of Macedonia about the grace of God that has been given to them. Paul urges them to give generously and cheerfully, in spite of their poverty, because God has given them the grace to do so. He also encourages them to imitate the example of the churches of Macedonia, who gave out of their distress, and whose generosity was not merely a matter of words, but of action. Paul reminds them that God loves a cheerful giver, and that by giving generously, they will be storing up treasure in heaven.
