2 Corinthians 5:1
The Bible in 2 Corinthians Chapter 5 Verse 1 says:
For we know that if the earthly house of our tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.
Interpretation of 2 Corinthians Chapter 5 Verse 1
2 Corinthians 5:1 is a reminder to Christians that their physical body is merely a temporary dwelling place and that, upon death, they will be reunited with God in a heavenly home. Paul uses the metaphor of a tent to represent the physical body, noting that when it is destroyed, the person will be provided a more permanent and perfect dwelling in the presence of God. He also emphasizes the permanence of this new home, noting that it is eternal, and not made with hands (that is, not made by human effort). Paul encourages his readers to focus on the things of heaven, rather than the things of this world, and to live their lives in anticipation of their heavenly home.
