Interpretation of 2 Corinthians Chapter 2 Verse 6
In 2 Corinthians 2:6, Paul is referring to a punishment that had been inflicted on a person within the church. He states that the punishment was sufficient and implies that the person was forgiven and accepted back into the church’s fellowship. Paul is encouraging the church to forgive and accept the person back and not to be overly harsh in their punishment. He reminds the church that it is not necessary to continue punishing the person, as the previous punishment was sufficient.
