Interpretation of John Chapter 12 Verse 18
John 12:18 is a reference to the events leading up to Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey. People had heard that Jesus had brought Lazarus back to life, so they went out to meet him and spread their cloaks on the road in anticipation of his coming. When Jesus arrived, the people praised him and shouted “Hosanna”, and the disciples were filled with joy. This scene is known as the Triumphal Entry, and it was part of Jesus’ final journey to Jerusalem before his crucifixion and resurrection.
