The Bible in John Chapter 12 Verse 8 says:
For the poor ye have always with you; but me ye have not always.
Interpretation of John Chapter 12 Verse 8
John 12:8 is a saying of Jesus in the Gospel of John. It is a response to a woman’s anointing of Jesus’ feet with expensive perfume. Jesus is explaining why the woman should not feel guilty for using the perfume, which could have been sold and the money given to the poor. Jesus states that the poor will always be around, but he will not. This is a reminder that his time on earth is limited, and it is important to make the most of the time that is available. It is also a reminder to be generous in giving to the less fortunate.
