Interpretation of John Chapter 12 Verse 7

In John 12:7, Jesus is addressing his disciples and a group of people who have come to see him. He is thanking them for their gifts, including a box of ointment which was given by Mary. Jesus says that the ointment should be saved and kept until the day of his burial. Jesus is preparing his disciples for his death and instructing them to remember his death and burial. He also foreshadows his own death, showing his unwavering commitment to fulfilling his mission on earth even if it means his own death.
