John 12:6
The Bible in John Chapter 12 Verse 6 says:
Now this he said, not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and having the bag took away what was put therein.
Interpretation of John Chapter 12 Verse 6
John 12:6 tells the story of a poor man who was present in the house at the time of Jesus’ arrival for a meal. Jesus noticed the man, and told those present not to begrudge the poor man, but to give him something out of their abundance. The reason Jesus gave this instruction, however, was not out of kindness or compassion for the poor, but because he knew that the man was a thief, and he wanted to prevent him from taking from the wealthy guests’ bags.
