John 12:1
The Bible in John Chapter 12 Verse 1 says:
Jesus therefore six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus raised from the dead.
Interpretation of John Chapter 12 Verse 1
In John 12:1, it is written that six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, the home of his close friend Lazarus, whom Jesus had previously raised from the dead. Jesus was visiting Bethany as part of his journey towards Jerusalem, where he would ultimately give his life as a sacrifice for all mankind. While in Bethany, Jesus was anointed with costly ointment by Mary, the sister of Lazarus. Jesus was also greeted by a large crowd of people who had come to see him. This event was a precursor to the events that would take place in Jerusalem during the Passover celebration.
