John 5:19
The Bible in John Chapter 5 Verse 19 says:
Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner.
Interpretation of John Chapter 5 Verse 19
In this passage, Jesus is responding to the questions of the Jewish leaders who were questioning his authority. He is affirming that he cannot do anything on his own, but only what he sees his Father doing. He is stressing the fact that whatever the Father does, the Son does in the same way. The passage is emphasizing the unity and oneness of the Father and the Son, and Jesus’ total obedience and dependence on the Father.
