Luke 11:51
The Bible in Luke Chapter 11 Verse 51 says:
from the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zachariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary: yea, I say unto you, it shall be required of this generation.
Interpretation of Luke Chapter 11 Verse 51
Jesus is speaking to the Pharisees and scribes in Luke 11:51, warning them that they will be held accountable for their lack of faith. He reminds them of the bloodshed of Abel by his brother Cain and then of the prophet Zachariah, who was killed in the temple. Jesus warns this generation that they will be held accountable for their failing to believe in God. He also implies that their lack of faith will result in their own destruction.
