Luke Chapter 11 Verse 30

Luke 11:30

The Bible in Luke Chapter 11 Verse 30 says:

For even as Jonah became a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.

Interpretation of Luke Chapter 11 Verse 30

In Luke 11:30, Jesus is comparing his own ministry and mission to that of the prophet Jonah. Jesus is saying that just as Jonah was a sign of God’s judgment to the people of Nineveh, so too will Jesus be a sign of judgment to the people of his own generation. Jesus was warning that the people of his generation will be held accountable for how they respond to his message, and that if they reject him, they will face God’s judgment.
