Luke Chapter 11 Verse 11

Luke 11:11

The Bible in Luke Chapter 11 Verse 11 says:

And of which of you that is a father shall his son ask a loaf, and he give him a stone? or a fish, and he for a fish give him a serpent?

Interpretation of Luke Chapter 11 Verse 11

This verse is Jesus’ response to the disciples who asked him to teach them how to pray. Jesus is using this analogy to tell the disciples that they should be confident in asking God for whatever they need, even if it seems outrageous. He is saying that if a loving father is asked for something, even if it is something unexpected, he will provide it. In contrast, no loving father would give his son a stone or a serpent when he asked for a loaf or a fish. Jesus is illustrating that God will never give us something harmful or something we don’t need; instead, he will always give us what we need.
