Luke Chapter 4 Verse 23

Luke 4:23

The Bible in Luke Chapter 4 Verse 23 says:

And he said unto them, Doubtless ye will say unto me this parable, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in thine own country.

Interpretation of Luke Chapter 4 Verse 23

Jesus is speaking to the people of his hometown of Nazareth, where He had been raised. He is citing a proverb about a physician who advises others to heal themselves before trying to heal others. He is using this proverb to tell the people of Nazareth that He has done many miracles in the nearby town of Capernaum and that they should expect Him to do the same in Nazareth. He is challenging the people of Nazareth to accept His ministry in their own hometown.
