And the devil said unto him, To thee will I give all this authority, and the glory of them: for it hath been delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

Interpretation of Luke Chapter 4 Verse 6

In Luke 4:6, Jesus is being tempted by the devil, who offers him all the authority and glory of the world if Jesus will worship him. The devil claims that this authority has been given to him and he can give it to whomever he chooses. Jesus does not accept the offer and instead quotes scripture to rebuke the devil. This passage demonstrates Jesus’ faith and strength in the face of temptation.
