The Bible in Luke Chapter 4 Verse 4 says:

And Jesus answered unto him, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone.

Interpretation of Luke Chapter 4 Verse 4

In Luke 4:4, Jesus is confronted by a temptation from the devil at the beginning of his ministry. The devil tempts Jesus by offering him bread, which symbolizes the physical needs of humans. Jesus resists the temptation by quoting Deuteronomy 8:3, which states, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Jesus is reminding the devil that physical needs are important, but spiritual needs are just as vital. He is demonstrating that God’s will and purpose for us is more important than our physical desires. Jesus is also showing that true nourishment comes from following God’s will for our lives.
